Las guerras del siglo XXI
Durante mucho tiempo, las guerras se han entendido como hechos de armas que ocurren en campos de batalla. No obstante, los modos de concebir y hacer la guerra se modificaron como respuesta a las claves que provenían tanto de los cambios en la organización política como de los de las tecnologías. No solo cambiaron la estética de la guerra, la capacidad letal de los atacantes, los sentidos de la intervención, las herramientas a ser empleadas, las tecnologías, los estilos y los modos, sino también sus protagonistas, los desafíos y su propia concepción. El nuevo milenio inició su despliegue con modalidades de entender y hacer la guerra muy distintas a las heredadas de las experiencias pasadas y que modifican sustancialmente su concepción y sus prácticas.
